The first hours after welcoming a baby are unlike any other. Time seems to slow down. The world outside fades away. And for a brief moment, it is simply your family, getting to know the newest little love who has changed everything.
This Fresh 48 session at Lakeland Regional Medical Center was filled with those moments. A brand new baby boy, two adoring big sisters, and parents soaking in every tiny detail of their growing family.

My first Fresh 48 session happened more than twelve years ago, long before photography became my full-time career.
My best friend had just welcomed her baby, and I brought my camera to the hospital to document those first hours for her family. At the time, I was working as a pediatric speech-language pathologist, but something about that experience stayed with me.
I watched two people become parents. I watched a mother fall in love with her baby and a father hold his newborn with equal parts pride and wonder. By the time I left that hospital room, I knew these were moments I wanted to spend my life preserving.
Fresh 48 photography captures a season that disappears almost as quickly as it arrives. This is before visitors come and go, before routines are established and before the outside world fully arrives. It preserves the beginning exactly as it was.

Long before I was a photographer, hospitals were already familiar places to me.
During college, I worked as a newborn hearing technician. Later, after earning my master’s degree in pediatric speech-language pathology, I spent years working within hospital systems caring for children and families.
Because of that experience, I understand the rhythm of a postpartum room. I know how to work around nurses, physicians, and lactation consultants without disrupting care. I understand what new mothers have just experienced, and I approach every session with that awareness in mind.
When I arrive for your Fresh 48 session, my goal is simple. I want you to relax, soak in these moments, and trust that every meaningful detail is being preserved with care.

This particular Fresh 48 session was especially sweet.
Mom and Dad had just welcomed their first baby boy, and from the moment I walked into the room, it was clear he was already completely adored.
His two older sisters could not stop looking at him. They studied every tiny feature, reached for his little hand, and proudly stepped into their new role as big sisters.
Watching siblings meet their new baby brother is one of my favorite parts of Fresh 48 photography. There is something incredibly special about witnessing those first interactions and preserving them forever.
He was only hours old, and already so deeply loved.

One of the most common questions I receive is what to wear for a Fresh 48 session.
My answer is always the same: prioritize comfort while choosing pieces that feel timeless and elevated.
For this session, mama wore a beautiful Lake kimono set that photographed perfectly. The soft fabric, relaxed silhouette, and neutral tones created an effortless look that felt both comfortable and refined.
Lake pajamas and kimono sets remain one of my favorite recommendations because they allow new mothers to feel comfortable while still looking polished in photographs.
STYLING NOTE
If purchasing something new is not on your list before baby arrives, don’t worry. I offer a curated collection of luxurious robes that Fresh 48 clients can borrow at no additional cost. The goal is never perfection. The goal is helping you feel like yourself while documenting one of the most meaningful seasons of your life.

If you are expecting, I recommend booking your Fresh 48 session shortly after your first trimester.
Most families reserve their session between 14 and 20 weeks of pregnancy. Booking early ensures availability and allows you to move through the rest of your pregnancy knowing this chapter is already planned.
Because babies arrive on their own schedules, I only accept two Fresh 48 clients each month and remain fully on call around your due date.
Once your baby arrives, you simply send me a message. I typically photograph Fresh 48 sessions the morning after delivery, when everyone has had time to rest and settle into those beautiful first hours together.
Whether you deliver at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, a Tampa Bay hospital, or a birth center in the Orlando area, I will be there to preserve your story.

The first hours after birth are filled with details that are impossible to recreate later.
The tiny hospital bracelet. The wrinkled newborn skin. The way your baby fits perfectly in your arms. The look on your face when you realize your family has grown.
These moments pass quickly, but photographs allow you to return to them for years to come.
If you are searching for a Lakeland Fresh 48 photographer, Tampa Fresh 48 photographer, or Orlando Fresh 48 photographer, I would be honored to help preserve this chapter for your family.
Fresh 48 photography is where my journey began more than twelve years ago, and it remains some of the most meaningful work I do.
I recommend booking during your second trimester to secure availability.
Reach out today and let’s begin planning a beautiful and meaningful welcome for your newest little love.
