Why I Fell in Love With In-Home Newborn Photography

I will be honest with you — the first time I photographed a newborn in a family’s home rather than a studio, something shifted in me. The images were different. Softer, somehow. More true. There was a tenderness to them that came directly from the surroundings — the familiar light, the details that meant something, the dog sleeping in the corner, the coffee mug on the nightstand. Real life, documented beautifully.

That is what I am after in every session. Not perfection for the sake of it. Perfection because it actually happened — because this family, this baby, this nursery, this light on this particular morning was genuinely, breathtakingly beautiful. My job is simply to show you what I see.
