I was so thankful to take these Tampa, Florida newborn photos for the Matthews family. Marissa and Clay were overjoyed to welcome their new baby girl Madeline. She was born on July 9th and we scheduled the in home newborn session exactly 2 weeks after. Getting to do these sessions in your home is such a special experience. All of the first moments that you’re having with your baby can tend to get so blurry in all of the exhaustion and excitement. My goal during these in home newborn sessions is to freeze these moments in time. I want you to be able to look at these photos and physically feel what everything felt like at this time.
About halfway through this session it got very dark and started storming outside. At times this can pose as an issue with lighting and making sure everything stays bright, but I always make sure to bring the proper equipment so that I can capture the session beautifully no matter what the situation is. Rain or shine, we will get your photos looking lovely and light.
Postpartum can always be a challenging time. Everything in your world has changed and oftentimes you aren’t feeling like yourself in your own skin. It’s so important that you feel beautiful for your newborn photos. You want to be able to look back on this time fondly, not just thinking about how you looked. I love to offer my client closet to new mamas. I have carefully curated a wardrobe with items that are sure to make you feel beautiful as well as being comfortable. For this session Marissa, the mama, also had an in home hair and makeup artist come. I cannot recommend this more! It is one less thing you have to worry about and you’re sure to feel lovely and confident for your session. One of my favorites in the Tampa area is Anna Dutko. She is lovely to work with and my clients are always thrilled with her work. Marissa ended up using two of my dresses from the client closet, giving her two different looks throughout the session.
I loved meeting this beautiful family and getting time with them. Their love for each other and excitement for their precious new little one was contagious all throughout the session.
