Tampa FL Maternity Photography

I had the pleasure of meeting Shannon and her husband for their Tampa maternity session, and it was an absolute joy to capture their excitement and anticipation as they awaited the arrival of their baby. Shannon had reached out to me in May to book both a maternity and newborn session, and I was thrilled to be a part of this special time in their lives.

One of the most common questions I receive is when to book a maternity session. I always recommend reaching out around 20 weeks to secure a session date and also schedule a tentative date for the newborn session. Booking both sessions together not only ensures availability but also comes with a discount. Maternity sessions typically take place between 28-36 weeks, depending on how the mom-to-be is feeling. Some choose to have their photos taken right up until a week before giving birth, while others prefer to have them a bit earlier. It’s truly a personal choice. As for newborn sessions, I book them based on the due date and adjust the exact session once the baby is born. Newborn sessions require lots of flexibility on my end, so I only take a limited number each month.

For Shannon’s session, we chose my favorite field in Tampa, which also has a small beach area. This location offers a variety of beautiful backdrops, making it the perfect setting for capturing stunning images. We scheduled the session during golden hour, but I’ve also had amazing sunrise sessions at this location.

Shannon and her husband were an absolute joy to work with. Their love and excitement were palpable, and Shannon’s radiant beauty truly shone through. It was an honor to capture their connection and create beautiful images on that cool and beautiful October night.
